Low Production, Palm Oil FFB Price Remains on Uptrend

`The price is still good also driven by palm fruit production domestically that is still rather low,` said the Chairman of the Indonesian Palm Oil Council (DMSI), Derom Bangun in Medan, Tuesday night.
He predicted that palm fruit production would increase in June. `Prices are also good because there is still demand for palm fruit even though CPO (crude palm oil) exports are disrupted due to the impact of COVID-19,` he said.
Given that prices are still good and purchases are still taking place, the national palm oil industry is still running normally. Farmers are also still harvesting their palms regularly.
Derom said that even though CPO stocks in storage tanks are increasing, storage can still be done.
`Hopefully COVID-19 will pass quickly so that palm fruit prices remain good and CPO exports and finished palm oil products for entrepreneurs continue to run normally,` said Derom.
