BPJS KESEHATAN: New Method, Applies Simultaneous Payments for One Family of Participants

The implemented system is in the homeland, including in Makassar.

The head of BPJS Kesehatan Cabang Utama Makassar, dr. Elsa Novelia said that the payment system is quite done through the virtual account (VA) collectively which refers to the Family Card (Kartu Keluarga/KK) so that it would directly cover all family members who are registered in the membership.

"This system has been valid since September 2016, in which only one family VA is enough to make the payment, “she said in official exposure in Makassar, Tuesday (September 6, 2016).

She gave an example, if in one family there are four members, then one of the family members makes the payment, then the amount that must be paid is the accumulation of four people at once in one transaction.

So far, BPJS Kesehatan participants pay their contributions one by one. The new system requires participants and family members who are registered to pay contributions collectively with one administration fee.

"Currently, we are intensifying the socialization related to the changes to this VA system in the KCU Makassar working area, we hope JKN participants will be able to understand and make adjustments," she said.
