Asia-Pacific Economic Growth 8% Rated Fair

JAKARTA: Economic growth in Asia and the Pacific is forecast to grow 8% this year considered as a natural thing. Moreover, known to some countries in the region is still zero or negative growth.
`Economic growth in this region seem so high. It's a natural thing,` he told Business Today.

He pointed out in 2008-2009, the growth of some developed countries in the Asia Pacific region tend to slow down, like Australia 1.3% South Korea 0.2% m. Even Japan recorded a contraction of 5.2%.

Today the IMF to increase the projected growth of Asian economies in 2010 to 8%, or almost 1% higher than projected April. The increase this projection by considering the realization of growth during the first half of this year that exceeded expectations.

China and India will lead growth in the region are reported with each estimate of 10.5% and 9.7%. Indonesian economy is expected to grow 6%, Japan 2.8%.

On the whole Asian economy forecast to grow moderately at 6.8% level.

Sri believes China and India is projected to restrain the rate of economic growth to prevent overheating.

`China began to raise interest rates, some countries do the same. China and India hold back for its economic growth is not too high,` he said.
