Coloring the Dynamics of World CPO Price Formation through PT KPBN

PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) which has been organizing the CPO exchange for palm oil players in Indonesia since 1968 is determined to make Indonesia take part in coloring the CPO growth trend in the global market and also be a price reference for palm oil commodities in Indonesia and the world. This statement was stated by Director of KPBN, Rahmanto Amin Jatmiko during the 2022 IPOC Conference (18th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2023 Price Outlook) on Thursday (3/11) at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua, Bali. Now, the fact is that the existence of PT KPBN, through its daily CPO commodity exchange, has become an important element in the formation of CPO prices in Indonesia and has become a reference not only for palm oil industry players in Indonesia but also for the Ministry of Agriculture as a benchmark for fresh fruit bunch (TBS) prices from palm oil farmers and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as a reference for biodiesel subsidies. “The next program is to involve Indonesia in coloring the dynamics of world CPO price formation through the commodity exchange at KPBN, is our determination and initiative,” said Rahmanto. The initial step to realize that aspiration, has begun with the collaboration by KPBN with two giant international media companies, Reuters and Bloomberg. This collaboration is also one of KPBN's strategic efforts in introducing themselves to the international world to shape Indonesia as a price reference for palm oil commodities. `One of the benefits of this collaboration will make the prices formed from the KPBN Commodity Exchange appear on the Bloomberg and Reuters (Refinitive) system terminal platforms and be coupled with information from other major world exchanges, so that it can be accessed by interested parties not only in Indonesia but also around the world,` explained Rahmanto. Rahmanto hopes that the collaboration established with these two international media outlets can strengthen KPBN's position both nationally and internationally in realizing its vision to become a world-class plantation commodity exchange. In the next two years, not only PTPN, his party is targeting that private producers will also take a bigger part in the KPBN exchange ecosystem platform. In the meantime, Holding Perkebunan Nusantara as the parent company of PT KPBN supports the initiation of the KPBN collaboration program with Reuters and Bloomberg. `As Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, we fully support KPBN as a palm oil commodity price reference in Indonesia. We hope the collaboration with Reuters and Bloomberg will bring a positive impact, so that the palm oil industry business climate in Indonesia will be increasingly strong in supporting the economy,` said Mohammad Abdul Ghani, President Director of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero). PT KPBN is a subsidiary of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero) which is engaged in the CPO Trading, Storage Tanks, Logistics Services and marketing agent for plantation commodity exchanges in Indonesia.
