Indonesia Trade Balance Surplus

JAKARTA: Indonesia's trade balance in September recorded a surplus of U.S. $ 2.55 billion.

"Because the export of U.S. $ 12.08 billion and imports U.S. $ 9.53 billion, then there is a surplus of U.S. $ 2.55 billion," said Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan told reporters today.

When associated with foreign exchange reserves, Rusman memerkirakan there will be increasing foreign exchange reserves. As of October 31, he said, foreign exchange reserves stood at U.S. $ 91 billion. "With the surplus, it has the potential to increase reserves," he said.

Cumulatively, the trade balance in January-September reached U.S. $ 13.54 billion from exports of U.S. $ 110.81 billion and imports U.S. $ 97.27 billion. Viewed from the non-oil and gas exports, a surplus occurs in non-oil trade of U.S. $ 13.997 billion. As for the oil and gas sector would experience a deficit of U.S. $ 453.1 million.

"The sad thing indeed recorded a surplus of crude oil but the fuel oil that we import directly deficit to U.S. $ 10.30 billion. Fortunately LNG can still be a surplus. It's increasingly evident to prove that we are net importers of oil, "said Rusman.
