Launching Rebranding of the KPBN

Starting in 1968, KPBN was initially formed as the Joint Marketing Office (KPB) in Jakarta, Medan, and Surabaya, which was mandated as a sales and marketing agent for state-owned plantation commodities. Along with growth, in 2009, KPBN became a Limited Liability Company, namely PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara, which is a subsidiary of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara I-XIV and PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia (RNI). However, the core business and activities are still as a sales agent for state-owned commodities. In early 2018, the growing organization and developing market required improvements from an internal perspective and a new approach to trying to increase the market share of commodities. One of the efforts for internal improvement was improving People, Systems, and Capital. Meanwhile, to increase the market share of commodities, KPBN developed its business line, not only as a tender-based commodity sales agent, but also with logistics, FMCG, certification, and commodity trading efforts through other sources (besides PTPN ) for market development. Of the total CPO production in Indonesia, which is available as much as 46 million tons, there are around 16 million CPOs that are opportunities for the export market. With the great opportunity to expand the reach of the market, especially the export market, KPBN intends to transform itself in order to strengthen relevance and appeal. This transformation is necessary because of the expansion of business lines and also the expansion of the target market reach, which was initially domestic, now, KPBN must compete in the international arena with agricultural commodity players outside Indonesia. Looking at the new target market (export) and to pursue the market dynamics, one of KPBN's transformation efforts is to rebrand its name to make it more marketable, namely INACOM. Inacom means Indonesian Commodity, which will sell 7 commodities in the form of CPO, PKO, PKM, Rubber, Sugar, Tea, and Molasses. Dolly P. Pulungan as the Main Director of Holding Perkebunan fully supports this transformation step. “We from Holding really appreciate KPBN's hard work so far, especially last year, which was able to record significant revenue compared to previous years. This cannot be separated from the business line that continues to grow rapidly, some of which are through commodity trading activities through new sourcing outside of PTPN goods. In order to accelerate KPBN's performance, we fully support the transformation through KPBN rebranding to expand the target market reach and be ready to compete not only in the national arena but also in the global arena,` said Dolly. In the end, the stage of rebranding KPBN to Inacom aims to be better known as the largest commodity producer in Indonesia, not only in the national arena but also in the global arena.
