3 years of Jokowi-JK, the variety of downstream palm oil products increased to 154 products

Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto said that the production capacity specifically for palm oil and its derivatives in 2017 continued to show an increase. The increase was quite significant compared to previous years.

`The production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives increased to 60.75 million tons in 2017 compared to 49.7 million tons in 2014,` Airlangga said at the Industry Ministry Building in Jakarta on Monday, October 23.

Airlangga targeted that the production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives would continue to increase by 62 million tons in the next two years. For the number of palm oil downstream products, the period 2015-2017 increased to 154 products and in 2018-2019 it is predicted that it will exceed 170 products.

`The variety of downstream palm oil products in 2014 was around 126 products. There was increase from 2015 to 2017 to 154 products. The export ratio of upstream-downstream palm oil products also increased from 34 percent CPO and 66 percent of its derivatives to 22 percent CPO and 78 percent of palm oil derivative products,` he explained.

Meanwhile, in the metal sector there was a significant increase in downstream, where in the period 2015 to 2017 smelter industries had been integrated with their derivative products in the form of stainless steel with a capacity of 2 million tons and predicted to continue to increase to three million tons at the end of 2019.
