Books Published Struggle Employment Law

JAKARTA: DPP Chairman of Confederation of All Indonesian Workers Union (KSPSI) Mathias Tambing published a book entitled Principles of Employment Law Struggle to provide inputs for the revision of labor system in Indonesia.


Prime thick 144 page book was written with Atum Burhanuddin, Secretary of the Assembly Advisory Organization (MPO) KSPSI.

 

In the book, says Mathias, is described on the development of employment law ranging from the movement or the National Revival (1908-1966), the early days of independence (1945-1966), New Order (1966-1997) until the reform era from 1998-2010.

 

According to him, labor problems in Indonesia changed radically after the birth of three packages of labor laws, namely Law No.21/2000 concerning Trade Union / Labor Unions, Law No. 13/2003 on Manpower and Law No.2/2004 on the Settlement Industrial Relations Disputes.

 

"What the government was not independent of political pressure from the international and national, in order to improve the image and international prestige in the eyes of government, and in order to sustain economic growth slumped due to global economic crisis," he said, today.

 

Mathias asked the workers to be in conveying their aspirations do not swear or take action anarchist, because such action would cause workers to be hated.

 

"Actually, the welfare of workers with higher wages / salaries will help in attracting investors, due to the improvement of life of workers, it can contribute to improve the performance and efficiency," he said.
