According to Corsec PT Perkebunan Nusantara Holding, Iwan Perangin-angin, the first shipment of palm oil products from PT INL – a joint venture between PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero) and PTPN IV — was carried out on Tuesday, 25 September 2019 from the Port of Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra via MT Navig8 Gauntlet to the port in Savannah, USA. "This momentum is an opportunity for the Perkebunan Nusantara Group to enter the American and European markets and prove that PTPN has adopted Sustainability principles during the implementation of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) in its production process," Iwan Perangin-angin explained in a statement received by InfoSAWIT not long ago. Furthermore, he added, these efforts are assisting the government in generating state revenues and increasing the competitiveness of Indonesia’s palm oil products in the global market. Success in entering the US market complements the Holding Perkebunan Nusantara Group’s previous success in entering the European market. According to Arif Budiman, head of the Holding Perkebunan Nusantara Marketing Division, on 24 September 2019 the Perkebunan Nusantara Group delivered RSPO-certified CPO at the Port of Kuala Tanjung. This was CPO produced by PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), for a quantity of 4,000 tons with a value of US$ 1.98 million via MT Sea Dolphin headed to the ports of Hamburg and Rotterdam. PT INL Director Danny Surya Dharma added that INL has already exported US$29.4 million worth of palm oil products this year. Meanwhile, the products produced by PT INL include Olein, RBPO, Stearin, and Fatty Acid. "The majority of these products are exported, particularly to Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.
