The discussion forum, which was opened by Director of Annual Crops Holding PTP Nusantara Nurhidayat and attended by all directors of PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara, is expected to be able to produce a formulation of the same standard in assessing the quality of tea produced by PTP Nusantara.
During this time, it was indeed acknowledged in the tea taster circles that there were still differences in assessing the quality from each factory, although indeed it was not significant.
Nevertheless, the condition still requires serious attention so that the tea quality produced by the 23 PTP Nusantara factories has the same standard.
Lately, the level of competition to win the market is felt to be very tight. Not only the export market but also the domestic market.
"In order for our tea market to remain stable and increase, we continue to improve the various quality steps, including the perception of tea taster circles," said Dadang Juanda, Tea Manager of PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara.
Lately, it has been felt that the competition to win the tea market is very tight. Not only the export market but also the domestic market with the entry of tea from Vietnam and other tea producing countries.
In the domestic market, tea marketing is still wide open due to the still low consumption of tea by the Indonesian people. "At the time of tea consumption, the per capita of Indonesian people was only around 350 grams," said Dadang.
Meanwhile, in most countries, there are already those that are above 1 kg. Therefore, the existence of this tea taster forum is expected to have a huge influence on increasing domestic tea consumption.
Dadang said the discussion among tea tasters would continue. And this is also a part of the tea taster cadre program, considering that the existing tea tasters, some of them have been tea tasters for more than 30 years.
Most of the participants in the tea taster forum discussion were senior tea tasters who had been tea tasters for 20 to 30 years. In the discussion, the tea tasters were coordinated by Dudiek Polli as the team leader.
This tea taster discussion forum is not a new program, and it has been held for decades. However, in the last 10 years it has been vacuum and has just started again in early May, "We have this program to continue," said Dadang Juanda again.
