Holding Perkebunan Nusantara Reshuffles PTPN Board of Directors. `This change is in line with the company's transformation program that is committed to continuing the HR transformation program that is aimed at improving business performance and continuing to transform the work culture,` said Dasuki Amsir during the change of the PTPN board of directors at the Office of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara, Jakarta, (11/12/2017). Dasuki also said that the change in the PTPN Board of Directors focuses on improving the company's performance and refreshing the organization to strengthen the effectiveness of the respective companies. KPBN’s 8th Anniversary: Launching New Identity to Company Stakeholders. Carrying the theme of `Reborn: New Generation and Innovation,` PT KPBN is trying to be reborn and revive with new transformations and innovations. In his speech, according to the Acting President Director of PT KPBN, Iman Bimantara, explained that `in 2018, the innovations that will be carried out and strengthened by the company included developing an internet-based electronic tender (e-tender) mechanism for all main plantation commodities and organizing export sales at night to create new different market habitats`.  Iman added `other than celebrating the Company's Anniversary, today PT KPBN is also launching the company's New Brand Identity.`  `The PT KPBN atmosphere will be brighter with dominant green colors that represent the plantation business sector atmosphere and prosperity. The light green color also expresses hope, delivering the KPBN message and commitment as the Guardian of Hope that upholds the principles of Fair Trade,` said Iman.  This event was enlivened by a variety of Nusantara performances represented by dances from various regions, followed by a Fashion Dance fashion show in the form of a transformation of old uniforms into new uniforms. PTPN III's Cooking Oil Factory Operates in May 2018. `As of November 24, the factory development has reached 54 percent completion,” said PTPN III Holding Perkebunan Nusantara’s Corporate Secretary, Furqan Tanzala, in a press release on Tuesday (28/11/2017). PT INL will also sell stearin and palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) to PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia and PT Unilever Trading Indonesia. Both prospective buyers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with INL one day prior. The investment is valued at Rp 750 billion in the factory, which is a joint venture between PTPN III and PTPN IV, with share ownership of 51 percent and 49 percent respectively. The processing facility is built on 2,000 hectares of land, with a planned production capacity of 600,000 tons per year and a requirement for 2,000 tons of CPO per day. The supply of raw materials will come from PTPN III and IV, at 1,000 tons each. The Director of Human Capital Management and General Affairs of PTPN III, Seger Budiarjo, stated that the presence of the cooking oil factory has the potential to affect the sales of the company’s palm oil abroad. Over the first ten months of this year, the company produced 1.9 million tons of CPO and CPKO. All of this palm oil will be sold through PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN), a subsidiary of PTPN III, at an auction price of Rp 8,200 per kilogram. The vegetable oil is then marketed to processing factories and exported. “It won’t be an issue, because later we will get added value for the cooking oil,” he said. The company is still reviewing whether the cooking oil will have its own brand or it will be sold to other parties. Besides the subsidiary with Unilever, PTPN III signed an MoU with several other BUMN and private companies. The 14 PTPN holdings signed a cooperation agreement for the distribution of natural gas with PT Pertagas, a sales and purchase of gas agreement with Pertagas Niaga, a cooperation agreement for the use of dry ports with PT Kereta Api Logistik (Kalog), and a land use agreement with PT Alternatif Protein Indonesia. PTPN III also signed an MoU with PT All Cosmos Indonesia as a prospective investor in the construction of a bio fertilizer factory. “We hope that the signing of the agreement and the MoU will increasingly accelerate the development of investment and infrastructure in the Sei Mangkei KEK (industrial estate),” said Furqan. Realization of investment in infrastructure and industrial development in the Sei Mangkei KEK has now reached Rp 3.99 trillion. The Tingkat Penggunaan Lahan (occupation rate) in the KEK is 212 hectares, or 10.96 percent of the total KEK area, at 1,933.8 hectares. Furqan explained that PT Alternatif Protein Indonesia (PT API) requires 51 hectares of land to develop alternative protein industries and black soldier flies (BSF) to build insect bio reactors (IBR) valued at US$ 500 million. API plans a groundbreaking in January 2018. “They have already paid the first down payment for land compensation of 51 hectares on November 23 for Rp 1.3 billion and will pay the rest in full in the next four months,” he explained Meanwhile, PT All Cosmos Indonesia requires 7 hectares of land, with an estimated investment of US$ 30 million. All Cosmos will develop the fertilizer industry (biochemical fertilizer). BPDPKS Signs 1.4 million KL of Biodiesel Financing Agreement. The allocated funds are estimated to reach Rp 5.7 trillion. Managing Director of BPDPKS Dono Boestami said that the financing agreement represents the government’s commitment to support the sustainable palm oil industry while also encouraging diversification in the energy sector. The agreement was signed between BPDPKS and 20 corporations that have been tasked with providing biodiesel.
 
“We’re pleased to announce that the financing agreement between BPDPKS and biodiesel producers has been signed,” Boestami said in an official statement on Friday (24/11).
 
The funds will be used to purchase biodiesel between November 2017 and April 2018 with an estimated volume of 1.4 million kiloliters (KL). The biodiesel will be used to supply the needs of PT Pertamina (Persero) and PT AKR Corporindo. The respective volumes are 1.38 million KL and 24,000 KL and were set based on projections for solar energy needs during that period. The projections are for the transportation and electricity sectors.
 
Dono explained that the biodiesel incentive funds BPDPKS provided between January and October 2017 amounted to Rp 4,054 per liter. Assuming the same amount of incentive is provided between November 2017 and April 2018, the total funds needed to finance biodiesel purchases are estimated to reach Rp 5.7 trillion.
 
According to Decree No. 3756/K/10/MEM/2017 issued by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, 20 producers or corporations are responsible for distributing biodiesel. Funds from BPDPKS will be disbursed to these 20 corporations, namely: PT Batara Elok Semesta Terpadu, PT Bayas Biofuels, PT Cemerlang Energi Perkasa. PT Ciliandra Perkasa, PT Dabi Biotuels, PT Darmex Biofuels, PT Energi Baharu Lestari, PT Intibenua Perkasatama, PT Multi Nabati Sulawesi, PT Pelita Agung Agriindustri. PT Permata Hiiau Palm Oleo, PT Sukajadi Sawit Mekar, PT Kutai Refinery Nusantara, PT LDC Indonesia, PT Musim Mas, PT Sinarmas Bio Energy, PT SMART Tbk, PT Tunas Baru Lampung Tbk, PT Wilmar Bioenergi Indonesia, and PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia.
 
Director of BPDPKS Fund Disbursement Edi Wibowo said that the amount of biodiesel incentives granted increases every year. In 2016, total biodiesel distributed reached 2.49 million KL or 98% of the target of 2.53 million KL. Funds that were disbursed that year totaled Rp 8.18 trillion. In 2017, biodiesel distribution up until November had reached 1.79 million KL or 21% of the target of 2.53 million KL. The funds that had been disbursed at that time amounted to Rp 8.6 trillion.
 
“The fund from the palm oil sector used to support the mandatory biodiesel program reached Rp 11 trillion by the end of 2017, including the funds carried over from the 2016 distribution,” he said.

KPBN Expands the Market Through Electronic Trade. `KPBN will create innovation in 2018 by developing electronic tendering mechanism`, said Iman Bimantara, the President Director of PT KPBN, when giving a speech in the eight anniversary of KPBN, Friday (11/24).
The development of electronic trading is expected to increase commodity sales market through PT KPBN.
In addition to electronic trading, PT KPBN has also conducted a night trading. Iman said that it was done to meet the European customers’ demand.
The night sales has been conducted by PT KPBN since September 2017. It is thought to increase PT KPBN sales.
`The sales are conducted since 9.00 PM until 3.00 AM. It is proven that Serbia and Greek are enthusiastic with the Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and coffee,` Iman explained.
The development of electronic sales is supported by the President Director of PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III Holding, Dasuki Amsir. Dasuki said that the development of sales methods would open new markets.
`Electronic trading will open and find new markets, especially in Europe, America, and the Middle East,` Dasuki explained.
Dasuki also said that PT KPBN has conducted direct export for the plantation commodities. The development of sales of the commodities is expected to grow in the future.

Palm Oil Production Contributes to PTPN III Net Profit Increasing. The Company has successfully posted a net profit of Rp921.3 billion for the period from January to October, after suffering a loss of Rp805.6 billion during the same period the previous year. The main factor behind this jump in bottom-line performance is increased productivity in palm oil production.
 
`During the 10-month period, the Company has recorded at least Rp28.2 trillion in sales, showing a 4.9% annual increase. During the period, palm oil production was recorded at 1.9 million tons, up by 12% from the volume for the same period in the previous year, with palm oil accounting for 64% of our sales,` said President Director of PTPN III, Dasuki Amsir, to the press in Jakarta on Monday, 20 November 2017.
 
Based on the company's data, there was an increase in productivity at our palm oil plantation, from 2.9 million tons CPO per hectare to 3.2 million tons per hectare. Furthermore, yield of palm kernel oil saw a slight increase from 0.56 to 0.58 tons per hectare.
 
The combined surface area of the 14 PTPN palm oil plantations is recorded as 469,000 hectares. Given this performance, PTPN III has projected that palm oil production until the end of the year will be between 2.1 million tons and 2.2 million tons.
 
Nevertheless, this is still below the target that was set early in the year at 2.4 million tons. Given this estimate, the company projects that its revenue by the end of the year could reach Rp33 trillion.
